Risk assessment for handmade products
It sounds like a job for a laboratory. For most handmade products it is a few honest pages: what the product is made of, who uses it and what could go wrong.
Why you need one
[LAWYER TEXT] What the regulation says about the internal risk analysis and the technical documentation, and how long they have to be kept.
What to think through
- Materials: what the product is made of and where the materials come from.
- The user: an adult, a child, someone who may put the product in the mouth.
- Use: heat, water, electricity, small parts, sharp edges, cords.
- What to tell the buyer: warnings and instructions.
Two ways to prepare it
Yourself, with the wizard. A set of questions for your product category, one block at a time, with a draft you can come back to. At the end you get a PDF with the risk level and suggested warnings.
Done for you. A one-off service per product: you describe the product, we prepare the document and put it into the product card.
[LAWYER TEXT] The assessment is prepared from the information the seller gives. The seller remains responsible for the safety of the product.
