For Etsy sellers
GPSR for Etsy sellers: where to start
Etsy asks sellers who ship to the EU for the details of a manufacturer and of a responsible person in the EU. Here is what that means for a small shop and what to do first.
What changed for a shop that ships to the EU

What Etsy asks you to fill in
Etsy has fields for product safety details: the manufacturer and the EU responsible person, each with a name, a postal address and an email.
In your account with us these details are ready to copy field by field, with a short instruction for Etsy.
[LAWYER TEXT] Which listings must carry these details and what a marketplace may do with a listing that has none.
Four steps for a small shop
- Take the free self-check: it shows which gaps are worth closing.
- Sign up, sign the mandate online and choose a plan. After the first payment a company in Cyprus acts as your responsible person in the EU.
- Copy the representative's details into your Etsy listings.
- Add your products and their documents. The wizard helps with the risk assessment, the generator makes the label.
Not sure where your shop stands?
The free self-check takes about two minutes and shows which gaps are worth closing. No email needed.
